Office Hours
[Those who wish to meet with the Junior Administrator-- well she's always on call.
Getting her off her phone on the other hand... is a bit more difficult.]
Getting her off her phone on the other hand... is a bit more difficult.]

But... I want to try and make it right.
[...]
Thank you. For... for that. I needed... to hear that.
[She needed that affirmation.]
no subject
[ ... ]
There's no need for thanks. I'm just saying what I feel, and know is true...
[ Terra will place his hand on his chest, looking right over at the computer. Regardless of where he's standing, his voice shines with confidence. ]
...deep in my heart.
[ Sorry this got disneyesque cheesy, but boy, Terra's in a mood, and he believes that maybe...just maybe, something good can come out of this. ]
If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. A lot's... happened today, including something at the trial, so if you need to know anything about that too and it can somehow help in getting you back together...
[ Say the word and he'll let her know. He doesn't know if she can see all that's going on anymore, after all. ]

[She refuses to use the ones in her lab. Because they have their own names and lives. It's different with Megumi. She loves her uncle as much as she can love anyone but his methods and his thinking are different. Brilliant and different.]
I have a backup... of my data. If I can just get it put back in then-- I can start over.
no subject
[ Terra's just making sure he's got this down correctly, because guess who's kind of not used to this advanced technology, still? ]
And can you tell me how'd we would be able to get your backup data back in? Would it be like before?
[ ... He actually remembers the whole adventure with Flat because he was there for when he put the memory card in. ]
no subject
But yes, it's the same as before. When I was... well... anyway, the old one is gone. But there's another one in my bag in the corner. Just... like before.
no subject
[ Anyway... is her bag in the office, then? In a corner? ]
And I'm definitely going to help you get her back. Maybe after all of that happens, we can figure out some sort of plan of action, and talk it all over.
[ Terra wants to prevent anything like before happening, okay, and he's going to do his best to ensure Vivi doesn't get hurt again. He can do that much, he thinks. ]
no subject
[Her bag is still in the corner! Back behind the desk.]
I'll... I'll do my best too. I don't want to fail you all again. And I... I don't want to keep leaving it all to Han. He's trying, but-- I need to do what I can to help him.
no subject
[ Okay cool time to parkour over the desk and--
Alright, no, Terra will walk around it like a normal person and start to look through her bag for the memory card now. He still has no idea it's called that but he knows what it looks like, thank goodness. ]
I believe that you will--you always try your best, anyway. [ Listen, it's what he thinks anyway. ] I also think it'll be better with the two of you working together; Han really does need all the help he can get. Especially if he's trying to help us out too.
no subject
[It's a bad joke. She can't go anywhere right now.
The card isn't hard to find though since he knows what he's looking for!]
Yeah, he is. We did some work together... not as much as I would have liked before, but I trust him.
no subject
Alright, I'd like to hear about him, then. Can you start with his name?
[ Also yay! +1 Memory Card has been added to Terra's Inventory. ]
... It's taken me awhile to get there with the whole trusting Han thing, but I think I can now see why you trust him. Sure, he didn't know what he was getting into, but he's honest and he's kind, which shows.
no subject
His name is Scott Gallivan. When... when my parents died, it didn't look like I'd have any family to go to. But then they found him. He's the one who taught me everything I know about robotics.
[Key item get!]
I was anxious at first too. But... once I got to know him, I knew my fears were unfounded.
no subject
He did, huh? He also watched over you while teaching you about robots, right? Like Master Eraqus did after he took me in.
[ Kind of like a father figure, he thinks. Even if he was her uncle, he thinks he can get the idea.
...It looks like it wasn't just him who needed time to warm up to Han, then. ]
It makes sense you were nervous about him too. There doesn't seem to be a lot of people who you can trust when it comes to staff here.
no subject
[Though not by blood, she feels as strongly about him as anyone.]
Well... Hale, I know what to expect. Oswald... he has his reasons, and he'll do whatever he needs to get there. He's not needlessly cruel-- but he'll force himself if it will bring him closer to a cure for his brother. So... we may not be on the same side, but... I can read him well enough and there are no surprises.
[Although some of those realizations are more recent, she feels confident in them.]
But Han was a complete stranger. I didn't know what his purposes were for getting involved. So I wanted to play it safe. That's why I'm really glad now that there is someone I can trust, who's working just as hard to protect you all.
no subject
[ Terra doesn't think he can really imagine Todd as anything but cruel, which to him would be because of how willing he is to go along with the Administrations' machinations in order to help his brother. Yeah, he's salty because his friends dying are the price of tha, yep.
But he does understand the fact that Todd was a constant, already-known variable whereas Han was an unknown--that's how it was, even to him. ]
What is your uncle doing now? I mean, is he staff here as well?
no subject
no subject
[ As he taught Vivi how to do what she did, anyway. ]
Did he do any work for any of the people here? I mean for the staff or anyone else that'd be part of the school.
no subject
But other than that, no. He was... never really interested in anything other than advancing his own work. This school probably never interested him that much.
At least, he never expressed any interest to me when I told him... I was coming here.
no subject
[ Beyond the whole giving her Megumi and all that. Unless something else comes up down the road, but honestly it's not like the Administration needs any more helping hands on their side, so it's good news to him. ]
When you had to leave Fayflower the first time? Do you mean, as in... the Entrance Exam, or was this a time earlier than that?
no subject
[Yeah... you know. The Entrance Exam fiasco.]
Yes, the Entrance Exam. When I... you know. I went to him after that.
no subject
[ Terra still remembers her 'death' and despite all of which he's seen here, it makes him feel sick to think about how it happened.
How any deaths have. But, it also makes him think of something else, now-- ]
...Can you tell me what made you want to join and stay in a place like this? I'll admit I didn't know all that much about what else might've happened, but before the Entrance Exam happened, I saw you didn't look all that happy to be here.
[ ...At least that's how it looked from the photos he found, anyway. ]
no subject
[She takes a deep breath and starts at the beginning.]
When I was asked... to come here... the school wasn't like this then. Everything changed recently, but before that... it was just a school for talented individuals.
I... I just wanted a place to continue my work. I wasn't... I wasn't good with people. I didn't like the program but even more than that I was... anxious... about being in charge of others.
[She pauses.]
When I was just turning five I... saw the fire that killed my parents. From... just outside. Afterwards, I... I lost the person that I was. I lost "Vivienne". And... I couldn't get that part of me back. After that... I didn't... know how to connect with people. It was easier... not to.
But... even though I was anything but an ally to you then... you still...
[She feels silly saying it, but--]
You accepted me. With... all my faults. And in the world it almost felt like... I finally... found a place I belonged...

[ So it looked like she was another person who had just gotten caught up in this mess. He can't help but look a little sad at hearing that, and it shows on his face.
Terra can't hug her, place a hand on her shoulder, or hold her hand, but the instinct to do either one of those things is still there. Right now, his words will have to do, and he could only hope for that much...and maybe it'll be enough, since it seemed that there wasn't just sadness here. ]
It can be hard to find your place in the world, and honestly...even though I'm not too happy about being pulled along here [ Until he remembers how fucked everything is for him, that is-- ] I'm happy to know that something good came from this. I guess...for me, it's always felt like you were one of us from the beginning, so, I...
[ He shakes his head, somehow managing something of a smile. ]
I don't know where I was going with this exactly. But having people you can rely on makes a world of a difference.
no subject
That’s why... I want to ask you to help me. You saw... what Flat did that day. If you can do that, I can do the rest. And I... I’ll work hard to support you all moving forward.
Because... I want to have a place to come back to and... I won’t have that without you.

[ Terra will clench his hand before placing on his chest, but with an almost flat palm, and a determined look in his sapphire eyes. He's committed and he's going to see this through to the end. For once, it looks like things are starting to brighten up, even if they're going to be difficult. ]
I guess at this point it'll be good to know some things:
Do you happen to know when things started to take a turn for the worse? I mean, when this ... hijacking thing appeared? Since it sounds like we still need to know more about that, and it only got bad enough awhile after Han's arrival.
And do you know when would be a good time for me to catch 'Megumi' so I can insert this thing in? Since I saw how Flat do it and all... but I'm not sure how receptive she'd be to me jumping out of nowhere and being like 'hey I need to insert this square thing can you just hold still for a second?'
[ ... Because uh, yes he does know that it's her uncle's robot/AI thing but she didn't seem very friendly during the motive thing. ]
no subject
[And as for Megumi--]
Oh-- you shouldn't have a problem with her. You can tell her it's an order from me. She should listen. She's... emotionally, she's not very well developed, but she is intelligent. She understands what Uncle wants her to do.
